Nuremberg has caught me off-guard. I felt drawn to it for it's rich history and significance during the Nazi era, but have been surprised by it's beauty and charm. The old walled city has provided a lot of inspiration. In particular, I enjoyed the Neues Museum - Staatliches Museum für Kunst und Design (State Museum for Art and Design) and the current exhibitions.

It was great to see some iconic design pieces in person like the Rag Chair by Tejo Remy and the Nobody Chair by Danish design company Komplot made entirely of recycled plastic bottles converted into PET felt.
Came across a great painting by Gerhard Richter and a small work by Catherine Opie that echoed her Icehouses series.
I was also very surprised by a retrospective exhibition of German fashion photographer F.C. Gundlach. His black and white work prior to the 70's is really interesting.
And there was a inspiring exhibit: Künstlerzeitschriften (Artist's Magazines), detailing a Fluxus-like movement in the 1980's. It was all in German so I couldn't read anything, but took a lot from the samples they had on display.
